Over the last few years, we’ve received numerous requests from contractors building government vehicles, command centers, and heavy-duty equipment like first responder vehicles. Their demands were clear: they needed a rooftop air conditioner that wasn’t imported from overseas, ensuring serviceability and quick access to replacement parts that could be overnighted in a matter of days. They also wanted direct access to knowledgeable technical support and sales staff who could answer their calls immediately. Our focus in developing this product was durability—building a unit capable of handling continuous operation, vibration, and the extreme conditions of the heavy-duty industry. We refused to compromise on quality by racing to the bottom on price, avoiding cheap compressors and plastic components in favor of a fully metal, heavy-duty design. The unit features simple, reliable controls with the option to integrate our premium wall-mounted, WiFi-enabled DT-05 thermostat, allowing users to control the system without needing to reach the unit or hunt for a remote. With wired sensor compatibility, the DT-05 can also monitor temperatures in remote areas of the vehicle for more precise climate control.

Built from the same core components as our proven HD and VES series, this rooftop unit benefits from our robust supply chain, ensuring parts are always available for servicing. Another key requirement was sourcing as many components as possible from U.S. manufacturers. Every major component in our units is built specifically for us and ordered directly from the manufacturer, giving us complete control over quality and availability. The HD R/T-A model is constructed from lightweight, powder-coated aluminum and fits the industry-standard 14” x 14” opening found in most vehicles. For marine applications, we offer the HD R/T-S, a stainless steel version designed to withstand the harsh saltwater environment, making it ideal for workboats, patrol boats, and high-speed center consoles. While developed for marine use, the stainless steel model retains all the capabilities and accessory compatibility of the HD R/T, making it suitable for any demanding application.

Unlike most rooftop air conditioners, which require LTL freight shipments, our units ship via FedEx Ground, offering a smoother, hassle-free delivery process without the complications of freight or pallets. Another key design advantage is the ability to service the unit in place—removing just the cover provides full access to all plug-and-play electronics, eliminating the need to remove the unit from the roof and leaving a hole while waiting for repairs.
